Come And Get It

Report Date: January 26, 2017

Fishing this past month has remained consistent due to moderate water temperatures for this time of year. Snook, redfish, trout, black drum, pompano, sheepshead, jacks, ladyfish, and mangrove snapper are all a possibility.
I have been catching live bait upon occasion along the beach and it has worked well for most of the species mentioned. However, I have been using popping cork and shrimp or jigs for the most part. On the outside of the islands, anglers have been catching trout, pompano, and bluefish using shrimp tipped jigs. Ladyfish and jacks have been proving steady action as well.
I am still catching enough small to medium snook and redfish along the mangroves to make bushwhacking worth your while. Once again, jacks, snapper and redfish are in the mix too.
If you use cut shrimp under weights in the deeper water, you can expect some sheepshead, snapper, and a few black drum to take your offering.
The weather is perfect and the fishing is good. Escape the winter blues and book a trip. I'll see you on the water.
